SRK plays an autistic in My Name is Khan

13.jpg

SRK is not resting on the laurels that his current flick Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has brought for him, instead he is back to work as he is all set to start filming for Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan from tomorrow and SRK will be seen suffering from autism in the movie.

SRK plays Rizvan Khan who suffers from Asperger’s Syndrome which makes interaction and behavior strange and difficult.

SRK has to say bye bye to lean look as he needs to put on weight for his role, SRK says, “The role requires me to have a fuller look. I am reading, watching documentaries, meeting people who are affected by autism and doctors who deal with it. It’s very unnerving and I salute parents who bring up children with any disorders.”

Rizwan Khan is suspected to be terrorist because of two reasons in the movie - one he is a Muslim and the other his strange behavior due to autism.

Well looks like we would get to see another splendid performance from SRK after Chak De.

Aamir Khan on his eight-pack abs

photo1.jpg

Aamir Khan is looking stunning these days, while other Khans are sporting six-pack abs, Aamir has gone two pack ahead with his physique.

Aamir reveals the secret behind his ripped Ghajini look. Read below to know more:

Talking about his physique Aamir says, “I needed this kind of physique because the kind of action you see me doing, you will believe I am capable of only because of my body.”

“It took three hours of workout every day. I began on March 15, 2007, one day after my birthday, and it went on till April 21, 2008, I learnt a lot about fitness in this period. And how far I can push myself.”

“All credit goes to my physical trainer Satyajit Chaurasia and diet by Dr. Vinod Durandhar. The workout was a cycle of three days…”

“Mondays I did chest and back, Tuesdays I worked on the arms, and Wednesdays I exercised my shoulders and legs. Then I would repeat the cycle. This included cardio every day of between half-hour to an hour.”

“I did abs to work the core muscles and get the six-pack, say 1,000 crunches. On days when I felt good, I would push myself more. There was no time to think… because I’d be screaming in pain!”

“I was particular about getting eight hours of sleep. No matter what time I went to bed, I’d get eight hours, then get up and start training.”

It was tough, because I was into post production for Taare Zameen Par at the time. And I’d finish my workouts, shower, crash out for a while to regain strength, then go to work.”

“It was a balanced diet, one-third fat, one-third carbs, one-third protein, but normal food, rotis, rice, sabzis, chicken, 16 egg whites, fruit, and four litres of water. All cooked in three teaspoons of oil.”

“No, not olive oil. There was no sugar, no potatoes, no bananas, no red meat, no egg yolks and no fried stuff. The diet changed every month.”

“In the last week and before I went on the sets of Ghajini, I cut down salt. And the last three days, I took myself to the brink of dehydration by having just one glass of water a day. This cut that last bit of fat. And the body looked lean and ripped.”

So guys now you know how to get that lean mean Aamir Khan’s look from Ghajini.

Arjun turns down Daddy role

m_arjun391189064397.jpg

Arjun Rampal in reality is a doting father to his two young daughters but in reel life he doesn’t want to play father of two kids and that’s the reason he turned down Meghna Gulzar’s next directorial flick.

A source says, “Meghna was keen to cast Arjun in a very important role, but Arjun said he did not want to be cast as the father.”

Producer Savita confirmed the news, “Arjun did turn down the role. We have two kids in the film aged ten and eight. Arjun did not want to play a father to two kids.”

Savita adds, “After Rock On!! maybe he wants to maintain a certain image and we respect that. However we are talking to Arjun for some other films. We would love to have him on board for one of our forthcoming projects.”

But didn’t he play a father in Rock On too?

Salman proposes to Asin in Paris

salman.jpg

Bollywood hottie Salman Khan recently shot the most crucial scene of his upcoming flick London Dreams in Paris, where he proposes his heroine Asin underneath the beautiful Eiffel Tower.

Apparently Salman had convinced director Vipul Shah to shoot the scene at the romantic place. When the director-actor duo went to check out Eiffel Tower on Champ de Mar they were in for a surprise as they tower was lit up in blue and gold as France was celebrating their presidency of European Union.

In the scene Salman bends on his knees to propose Asin.

Salman looks great in the above picture. Don’t you feel the same folks?

Abhishek Bachchan And Aishwarya Rai Separated!

12.jpg

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had been totally cut off over the last few days thanks to Mani Ratnam’s shooting venue in the jungles of Kerala that rendered the couple totally inaccessible to the world.

Jaya Bachchan fell ill last week and this left the leading couple of Mani Ratnam’s film with no choice but to take a day off from shooting. When Abhishek left with Rakeysh Mehra to Dubai he was absolutely out of contact with dear wife Aishwarya and not only family every one in the industry could not access the couple who seem separated from the rest of the world.

Says Abhishek, “This wouldn’t have been possible if we weren’t for the fact that we wrapped up shooting at one location and we were moving to another location. So that gave me manoeuvring power.

It’s not so much the distance but the inaccessibility. Out there in the jungles me and Aishwarya were totally cut off from Mumbai and the rest of the world. That really had us worried about the family.”

Directors Sanjay Bansali and Vipul Shah got extremely frustrated because they wanted to lock Aishwarya’s dates before she commits to someone else.

“I’ve been trying to contact Aishwarya for weeks. She’s totally unreachable. I’m willing to fly down wherever she is. Now if she’s moving to Ooty she’d be more accessible,” says a desperate Vipul Shah.

When Nobody Recognized Shahrukh Khan

4.jpg

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is rocking at the box office and Shahrukh Khan’s simple middle class avatar is getting all the rave reviews. And getting into the character of Surinder Sahni was the most memorable time SRK had while shooting for RNBDJ

“The first character is Surinder Sahni and we wanted him to look like a middle class guy, having a fixed routine - perhaps to the extent of being boring. We also wanted to give him a little bit of amusing quality without making him a caricature and to get all that, I think a physical appearance was important. Especially, for the movement of the story, the look was very important. One day, I put a moustache and got some hairpiece done and showed it to Adi and he said, ‘This is the guy he should look like.’ It’s not how weird or funny I look, but the simplicity of the character will permeate through the screen.

I think the most memorable part was the first seven-eight days when I changed my look for Surinder Sahni. When I used to walk on the sets, nobody would recognise me.I got a taste of things that will come 30 years later in my life when I will no longer be a star and nobody will recognise me. I think that is the most memorable moment but I hope it never happens to me ever again because not to be recognised after 20 years of such high recognition is something I wasn’t ready for.”

Shahrukh says he identifies more with Surinder than with Raj and Rahul that he has been playing over the last 15 years.

“I am basically very ordinary in the way I think, in the way I do things. I come from an educated lower middle class background and I have never lost touch with that. Suri is what I really am. And my challenge as an actor is genuinely to make Surinder Sahni the new romantic icon.

I want everybody not to love Raj anymore and say ‘We want to be Suri’. The romantic iconic status crown now shifts from Raj and Rahul to Surinder Sahni because he’s got a good heart.”

We hope so too!

Aamir Khan to grace the ramp

Awards+Room+Orange+British+Academy+Film+Awards+GpWS1fRqlTgl.jpg

Aamir Khan is leaving no stone unturned to turn Ghajini into a mega block buster and now he will be walking the ramp to promote his Ghajini style.

Van Heusen has been associated with Ghajini for designing Aamir’s clothes in the first part of the movie and they asked Aamir to walk the ramp for them for which he instantly agreed.

A source says, “Aamir will be wearing this brand in the first half of the movie where he has a corporate, modern and fashion-conscious look. The brand just approached him with a formal letter asking him to walk the ramp. Aamir readily accepted, simply stating in reply, ‘It’s a good idea’. Aamir agreed to walk the ramp without monetary expectations.”

Well looks like the ramp will soon be set on fire by the perfectionist Khan.

She also plays piano and is a pro at it as she has been practicing for five years, “I have been playing the piano for five years because I love playing it. Well this beauty surely has many hidden talents.

So when Akshay was shooting with some Kung-fu kids for his flick Chandni Chowk to China he also took Aarav to check them out, “I wanted my son to see how good he could be if he trains hard, too. Akki revealed that Aarav trains thrice a week for Karate, “He loves it, he is just dying to perform kicks like me! When we train at home, he sometimes get frustrated, but he is learning fast, some of his moves are better than mine,”

Kareena’s Coldest Night With Saif

saif_kareena2.JPG

Kareena Kapoor experienced the coldest night with her beau Saif Ali Khan while shooting in Philadelphia. The couple is otherwise quite cosy together but Kareena needed a whole lot of winter wear including jackets, shawls, boots and pullovers to keep warm while shooting for Karan Johar’s flick with Saif.

She said, “It was the coldest night of my life… You’ve no idea what it was like in that heavy snowfall with a unit of 80 people. But it looked like heaven.”

No points for guessing who made it ‘heavenly’ in such freezing cold for Kareena. The couple decided to keep shooting in such an extreme climate because they want to take a break from Christmas to New Year for Saif’s annual family bash at his ancestral home.

Aamir Helps Jiah Learn Urdu!

02slid2.jpg

Aamir Khan who chose Jiah Khan over Kangana Ranaut in his forthcoming film Ghajini got into trouble when his lady had to deliver lengthy emotional dialogues in Urdu. Jiah is not at all good at Hindi or Urdu and just didn’t sound right when she spoke her dialogues. But Aamir, the perfectionist he stands, knew exactly what to do.

“I must admit it was a bit of a problem. Aamir and the director got me an Urdu dialogue coach, Athar Nawaz who guided me. And each time I’d be stuck with a line Aamir helped me out,” Jiah told IANS.

“My mom, who lives in London, flew down during the shooting. She speaks Urdu fluently. She ran through the dialogues with me over and over again. I think I’ve done my lines very well. To have my lines dubbed would have taken away from my performance. I think I managed my lines well,” she added.

“Like the Urdu-Hindi, I’ve mastered the dancing to a large extent,” she said talking about her song Lattoo in the film.

“I realised how hard it is to do a sizzling song. The song is a very Jennifer Lopez kind of number. It’s very stylish and chic. In a week’s time, it goes on air. That should answer the question why I’m not seen in the publicity,” she said.

Well… to me she doesn’t look pretty one bit… But if Aamir was okay with her, it means the girl has got something!

Cant wait to watch Ghajini!

“It is nothing that local anesthesia, a tetanus injection and antibiotics couldn’t solve. There’s nothing to worry about other than my dates that have gone for a toss, disabling me from taking Odissi lessons for my new film ‘Desire’,” she wrote.

She ended her blog writing, ” “Look before you leap and stay grounded.”

When quizzed about playing a small role, she says, “How can that even be an issue? Aamir Khan is such a fabulous actor, that anyone would give an arm and a leg to share the frame with him. Secret behind Deepika’s cheeni eyes

sexy.jpg

Deepika Padukone is looking all Chinki in her upcoming flick Chandni Chowk to China which also starrs Akshay Kumar. According to rumors the leggy lass is playing a double role in the movie and she confirms the news and says it’s not a publicity gimmick.

She says, “It’s actually a double role and no publicity gimmick. I play two different characters in Chandni Chowk To China , one is an Indian called Sukhi, and the other is a Chinese girl, Meow Meow. The Chinese character is a pro at martial arts for which I had to undergo four months of rigorous training before the film started.”

There were rumors that Deepika had used tapes to make her wide eyes look like Chinese eyes, however Deepika says, “We had thought of that initially but it wasn’t a good idea to use tapes, they’re bad for the skin. My makeup artist came up with a simpler solution and used the eyeliner in such a way that it gave my eyes the Chinese tweak.”

So do you think Deepika does justice to her Chinese role?

A source says, “People will go to watch SRK’s film but see these Aamir’s Ghajini prototypes everywhere in the theaters. The producers of Ghajini were delighted with Aamir’s idea. It was difficult to get almost 1,500 ushers to shave off their hair just like Aamir, though he himself was kicked with the idea. Not just ushers, but also men at the ticket-counters and those who work in the food courts, will be sporting the Ghajini look.”

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi Movie Review

11.jpg

With Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi director Aditya Chopra returned to the silver screen as director after 8 long years since his last movie Mohabbatein released. It hadn’t been a great year for Yash Raj Films and there were one too many reasons why YRF desperately wanted Rab Ne to be a hit.

Shahrukh Khan’s movies very obviously arouse a lot of interest and this movie did the same job but with a difference - that being Shahrukh’s ordinary looks in the film. Shahrukh plays an ordinary guy named Surinder Sahni working for Punjab Powers. He is quite nerdish - bole toh a simple lovable guy many people can relate to.

He attends the wedding of his Professor’s daughter where he falls in love with the bride Taani (Anushka Sharma), she is beautiful, bright and bubbly (ala Preity Zinta) but things take a favorable turn when the news of the groom’s death in an accident reach the wedding party. In such a time apna hero comes forward to help the girl in distress and her family. And being his professor’s favorite student he wins his daughters hand and rab makes this jodi for the film to proceed.

7.jpg

Throughout the film he is shown asserting and compromising his true self balancing the act between ordinary and extraordinary to win his lady love. However, there are flaws in the script, Surinder and Taani’s relationship is not established well enough to justify her having an extra marital affair. Taani’s character needed more detail than just establishing her as a bubbly girl.

In some cases you need to just switch your mind off instead of trying to find a reason as to why Taani doesn’t recognize her husband in his funky avatar. Now coming to SRK’s makeover story - the makeover is not convincing at all. SRK is at his ham best, he tends to go a bit over board with his dressing sense to dialogue delivery - extremely irritating at times. Only hardcore SRK fans can like him in this avatar.

Overall, this movie has enough drama to draw you to the screens and keep you hooked. Although it is quite lengthy. 2 hours 40 minutes are a bit too much for this particular film. Adi could have easily done with only 2 hours but some unnecessary masala scenes added to the length.

2.jpg

Anushka Sharma makes a good debut. The girl has to hone her acting skills but she did a fair job as a new comer. She is a very good dancer too. Shahrukh Khan as the nerd makes a mark. Vinay Pathak is another rememberable character in the film.

I would say this is an average film, not a very intelligent fare not bad either. Music is average too, nothing like DDLJ or Mohabbatein or other YRF films. SRK is the only reason people would watch this movie for.

Worth a watch not second.

Rating 3/5

Flops Mellow Salman Khan Down

Salman Khan has become very very professional and looks like all his flops have mellowed him down. He is shooting with full dedication his forthcoming movie Veer. For the first time in his career he is putting the movie ahead of his stardom.SalmanKhan-.jpg

A close friend of Salman reveals, “Veer is his dream project and he has been putting his mind and soul completely into it.

He even rushed back to Mumbai from Greece for the shoot of Veer as the sets had been put up and every day was important as his second leading lady Liza Lazarus had already arrived in India by then too.

In fact due to time constraints he headed directly to the shoot of Veer in Film City from the airport in his make up van which was waiting for him at the airport. Despite the jet lag, he did not go to his home. He shot a few scenes and then took a two hour break and rested in his make up before continuing to shoot till midnight.”

And unbelievably Salman did not want to waste time travelling from the film set to his gym instead he worked out at the Whistling Woods gym to save time.

His friend confirms, “Salman is leaving no stone unturned for the film. So to ensure that there is no delay in the making of the film he is visiting the gym at Whistling Woods which is close to his sets of Veer to save time lost in traveling from Bandra to Film City.”

Desperate attempts to deliver a hit and save his stardom… Hope the effort pays him well.

Nandana’s Topless Scene Approved By Censor Board

nandana sen2.jpg

Nandana Sen is all set to make history as her controversial topless scene in her forthcoming film Rang Rasiya has been approved by the Indian censor board.

The film Rang Rasiya is the story of the legendary painter Raja Ravi Verma played by Randeep Hooda and his muse Sugandha played by Nandana. Sugandha used to pose nude for Verma. The film required scenes of frontal nudity and Nandana’s nude scenes are very crucial to the film’s narrative.

Nandana’s nude scenes form “the very core of the film” probably thats why it narrowly escaped the Censor’s scissors.

Nandana confirms the news and says, “I’m not surprised by the decision at all. That scene forms the very core of the film. Rang Rasiya is itself about censorship of art. The political message as well as the emotional drama in our film revolves entirely around that particular scene, making it absolutely essential to the narrative.”

“Everyone who has seen the film has commented to us about how the scene complements the film, so why would the censor board think any differently?” she added.

The Censor board must have approved the scenes but will the people accept it? Does this approval indicate that the Indian audiences have come of age to view frontal nudity on the screens of Indian cinema halls? Only time will tell.

Michael Jackson meets Hrithik Roshan

HrithikRoshaninKrazzy4_.jpg

It rarely happens that Hollywood stars are keen to meet Bollywood stars, however recently pop king Michael Jackson specially came to meet our very own Bollywood hottie Hrithik Roshan.

Apparently Hrithik was shooting for his home movie Kites, in LA when he was busy preparing for a shot and suddenly spotted Jackson at the set.

A source reveals, “Michael introduced himself to Hrithik. It was a funny scene to see someone like him, who the whole world knows introducing himself. The two spoke for a short time and then Michael left.”

SRK on marriage, Suhana and Aryan

shahrukh-khan-children.png

Shahrukh Khan is always seen speaking about his films and projects, however he churns out some intimate details about his family and his kids in a recent interview.

SRK reveals that his life with Gauri became extraordinary when their kids came into their life, he says, “Can you believe that Gauri and I have been together for 24 years now? Just imagine we have spent almost a quarter of a century together. We got married in 1991, so it’s been 17 years of marriage now. There seemed nothing extraordinary about our life or marriage, till the children came along.”

SRK adds, “We still look at Aryan and Suhana and we wonder how we managed to produce them. As you must have noticed Aryan looks just like Gauri and Suhana looks like me. So it is as if we have managed to produce clones of ourselves. Gauri and I are not very smart people though. I perhaps can’t even make a paper plane properly. Yet we have come together to make these extraordinary, special children. Here they are growing up so fast and yet we feel that we are still the same people when we had met. We believe that we will stay young forever.”

Now that’s really cute SRK!!! BTW did anyone see Rab ne… What’s your verdict?

Dhoni’s Bollywood Debut

B_Id_12961.jpg

Move over cricket, our very own Mahi - MS Dhoni is all set to rock Bollywood with his debut in David Dhawan’s Hook Ya Crook based on cricket.

A source reveals, “UTV, who had earlier made Goal, a football-based film, want Hook Ya Crook to be an authentic cricket film. The climax will be a huge cricket match a la Ashutosh Gowariker’s Lagaan. Dhoni, who has a full-fledged role, is being brought on board to share the field and cinema space with the rest of the cast and also to help his colleagues give a believable spin to the game.”

David Dhavan reveals, “Cricket does play a very important part in my film.”

So guys what do you think about Dhoni’s Bollywood debut. The guy surely looks hot but his voice doesn’t have much impact.

Akshay pours his heart out after Mumbai attacks

akshay1kumar.jpg

Akshay Kumar like his many other colleagues has also penned down his thoughts about the Mumbai attacks and what he feels about the whole issue.

He writes, The morning of November 27, was the most horrendous day I can remember since I lost my father. The night before I pretended to sleep; now awake, I thought I could have nearly lost my wife, for she was there at the Taj the previous evening. If she had stayed for dinner, I don’t want to know what may have happened to her. Now as I watched her sleep, looking troubled, holding our son close, as I lay next to them, I made up my mind — I was not going to let my family live in fear. Not now, not ever! It’s the 21st century, for God’s sake.

How can we still be surrounded by such pain and suffering? There were so many mothers whose sons had been lost to the terrorists’ bullets, and many who had braved them to ensure others were saved. But the biggest victory for any terrorists would be to see us affected. Yes, they wanted to snatch away our smiles, ruin what ‘we’ as a country live and breathe for… that is love and respect. But they cannot damage us, we are a family, a union, but only if we stand together. If you want to fight these terrorist, then fight we shall, but by coming together — not by starting a war.

We must learn how to protect ourselves, learn how to fight with our brains not just our machinery. We are loved as a country that is humble, beautiful, and full of culture, we cannot become terrorists ourselves, we are better than that… It’s been a week now and we have all been counting the hours, a lot has been said about the system failing, the authorities failing, and the loss that is beyond repair… But I believe in my people, we can’t fight politicians!

We just need to vote intelligently, only ‘We the People’ can save our country, no one else… We need to think like Kiran Bedi. Remember ‘Temper is what gets us into trouble, but pride is what keeps us there.’ Let us calm our thoughts, like my mother always says, ‘Jai mata di, jai mata di.’ Those soldiers have given their lives for us, let it not be in vain. Hold your tears and hide your pain. We are Indians and we are respected, respected for our strength and our humble hearts, let’s do the right thing — fight for peace, not war. Jai Hind!

Akshay Kumar

Akshay tattoos for Mumbai terror victims

Akshay-Kumar-levis10.jpg

Instead of penning his thoughts on paper and blogs, King of Bollywood Akshay Kumar has found that his skin is the best plaxe to sport a message for the victims of Mumbai Terror attack and all Mumbaiites.

Akshay will sport the tattoo “Everything’s gonna be alright” on his arm, which is a song from his animated movie Jumbo, apparently the entire cast of Jumbo including Dimple Kapadia will be sporting the tattoo.

CEO of producing company of Jumbo, Navin Shah says, “When we were filming this song, we never imagined that it would end up being so appropriate in this situation, but anything that makes people feel good is something we would like to do. The lyrics of the song are appropriate considering what’s happened and the low mood in the country today. Led by Akshay Kumar, everybody without exception, has loved the idea and they actually not only live the thought of it, but will physically put the tattoo on their hands.”

Do you think Akki’s gesture is great?

SRK says about his young actresses in movies, “They tell me that I am the youngest hero they have worked with. In fact, they say I am younger than the young guys. I work with these young girls without any ulterior motives of seducing them. I have so much love for Kareena, Deepika, Priyanka and Anoushka. Priyanka still does not call me by my name. Asin on Aamir says, The term Perfectionist is negative, he’s hard-working, dedicated and sincere. He’s not tough to work with in fact, Aamir’s down-to-earth and easygoing. “

Asin who is currently filming with Salman for Vipul Shah’s London Dreams cannot decide with which Khan she shares a better chemistry, she says, “I can’t say with whom I share better chemistry. As to who is the better co-star, it’s difficult to compare the two. All I can say is it was an absolute pleasure working with both the Khans at the start of my career.”

Asin is a very well known actress in Tollywood and she has become quite popular up in Bollywood thanks to her debut vehicle Ghajini opposite the Perfectionist Khan - Aamir Khan.

Aamir, who is known for experimenting with different looks for each of his film is said to have worked to improve Asin’s look in the film too. Asin claims to be really scared of Photoshoots. Wonder why because she looks absolutely stunning in all her photoshoots.

Nevertheless, Aamir the perfectionist decided to arrange Asin a very good make-up man, hair stylist and asked his favorite photographer to take her pictures for Ghajini’s posters.

Looks like Aamir has really put his heart and soul in the movie… he seems to be so particular about every minute detail. Even Asin’s look in the posters.

Shahrukh Khan’s film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is going to hit the screens tomorrow and people have great expectations from the film. Before the film officially released worldwide, Aditya Chopra held a special screening for the team of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.26/11 terror attacks on Mumbai had a deep impact on Shahrukh and he says he felt ashamed in promoting his film in such a time. On the press meet of Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, Shahrukh said,

“The movie is funny. But when I watched it, I cried and I laughed and I cried because I felt that by killing innocent, normal people, they (gunmen) are denying us the simple pleasures of life…I didn’t feel like saying ‘Go watch a film’ when people had died. What about the thousands who are affected?”

“I can’t tell people it will get you out of your sadness, but I can assure you that the two hours and 20 minutes is going to be great fun,” assured King Khan.

Kangana-Adhyayan Locked For Hours In Vanity Van

raaz2_full.jpg

Kangana Ranaut is sharing screen space with her current boyfriend Adhyayan Suman in Raaz 2 and the lovebirds seem to make most out of the time they are together.

Kangana and Adhyayan fell in love while shooting for Raaz - The Mystery Continues and they were inseperable reports a source on the sets. So much that the two lost count of the time while they were locked together in the vanity van.

They had a shot with Emraan Hashmi who was made to wait for hours before Mohit Suri, the director cancelled the shoot in frustration. Kanagana and Adhyayan unaware of this were really shocked to see the shoot cancelled and apologized to producer Mukesh Bhatt, report sources on the sets.

When this buzz reached Adhyayan’s daddy Shekhar Suman, he was pretty upset. Adhyayan slammed the media for these rumors saying,

“Come on, we are young, leave us alone… What have we done wrong to be under constant scrutiny all this while. First and foremost it is our personal life and it is no one else’s business to be interfering in that. Secondly, we have made our relationship public and just because we have done that and don’t have anything to hide, you can’t be writing something since you have to fill up your scoop column. Thirdly, though I could choose to completely keep quiet about it, I can’t help but cry out loud that nothing like this ever happened. Was the person who wrote all this there on the sets to see what was actually transpiring?”

“I can go on to say that people should act with some responsibility but I know that it won’t be the last time that something like this has happened. I guess I will have to just start making myself oblivious about such rumors and baseless gossips being written about me. However, it is just not fair for Kangna to be going through this trauma. Guys, respect a lady at least”, said Adhyayan in anger.”Yet again, my dad was upset about the entire incident. I have to time and again pull the strings back and concentrate on my work. ‘Raaz - TMC’ has been such a fabulous movie and it pains when rather than talking about the film, I end up being a part of such conversations. Seriously, I have had enough and it’s just not fair anymore. Kangna has just withdrawn herself from media after this baseless story.”

But Mr. Suman Jr. there is no smoke without fire!

Pink Panther is Not About Me:Aishwarya Rai

pink-panther-aishwarya rai.jpg

Aishwarya Rai’s recent Hollywood venture seemed to be a damp squib when people discovered that she had only a few scenes. But she went ahead and justified her presence and role in Pink Panther saying that she did the movie only for Peter Sellers and not to make any statement.

She said, “I loved Peter Sellers as Inspector Clouseau in the Pink Panther series when I was a kid and watched these films. It was hilarious, a laugh riot and a thorough family entertainer. People across different age groups love ‘The Pink Panther’ because the films always bring a smile to one’s face.”

“When I was offered this film, I was really excited as for me I was doing something which I have loved seeing as a child. It was a fun film which I would enjoy working in. The film did not require me to do intense acting and I did not have to look forward to scoring points as it had an ensemble cast of terrifically talented actors. I wanted to have a good time with all of them and I said a yes to the project. I’m not expecting critical acclaim or something from this film since the film is not about me, it’s about Steve Martin and ‘The Pink Panther’.”

Then I wonder what was the hype and hoopla all about!

Terrorism Is Faith Gone Wrong: Ranbir Kapoor

RanbirKapoor9m.jpg
Almost every Bollywood star is commenting on the 26/11 terror attacks on Mumbai and the latest person is Ranbir Kapoor. He was also a witness to the 9/11 attacks in New York and he relates the experiences.

“I was shooting at Film City when I got to know of the attack around 10 pm. When I went back home I switched on the news and was glued to the TV. Those three days were absolutely tragic. I remember I was in New York during the 9/11 attacks and I was studying there. It was as bad as that. I’m no body to comment on this. And I don’t want to comment on the political status of our country. I hope and pray to god that such acts stop,” said Ranbir.

On being asked if he was scared since the attacks took place in the plush iconic Taj Hotel a hub for Bollywood bigwigs and Mumbai’s elite, he said,

“Absolutely not. As I feel no one should live in fear. What has happened is unfortunate and terrible but life goes on. We can’t live our lives in terror. It’s going to a while before we get back to life the way we were. But I still think no one should live in fear.”

Ranbir echoed Aamir, Shahrukh and Salman’s words when he said,

“Terrorism has no religion, it’s just faith gone wrong.”

Indeed.

Salman says Shun Terrorism Follow Quran

salman343.jpg

Salman Khan broke his silence over the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai and spoke for the first time about Islam and terrorism. He said Islam doesn’t teach terrorism and Muslims should rather follow Quran than extremists. In a television interview he said,

“Islam mein toh yeh hai hi nahin… ya toh aap in terrorists ki baat suniye ya phir jo Rasool Allah (Prophet Mohammed) ne jo baatein sikhayi hain hadeeson mein aur jo Quran mein likha hai usey follow karein”

Criticizing the government like all the Bollywood actors have done in the past two weeks, he said -

“Jab buses aur trainon mein blast ho te thay everyone was going on with their normal regular life… ab jo yeh period hai unko aisa lag raha hai ke hum kahin par bhi safe nahin hain… ab government unki baatein sunegi - the powerful people who do not feel safe anymore… they will now take a stand… aur yeh achi baat hai… lekin yeh agar baat pehle ho jaati toh yeh naubath hi nahin aati.”

Salman also disapproved of the blame game India and Pakistan are playing after the attacks. He believes -

“Itna terrorism Pakistan mein khud ho raha hai… Benazir Bhutto maari gayi, Parvez Musharraf par kitne saare attacks hue hain… Marriott blast kardiya gaya… so this is not in control of even Pakistan. Main wahan ke newspapers toh pardhta nahin lekin agar wahan pe aisi koi ghatna hoti hai toh kya woh log bolte hain ke hindustaniyon ne kiya”

Talking about the Ram Gopal Varma’s controversial visit to Taj, Salman says,

“Picture ka set dekhne ke liye agar gaye hain toh woh toh bohot hi gadbad hai. Lekin agar woh saath mein thay aur he was concerned ke yeh kya hogaya I cant imagine this, then its fine.”

Eid Celebrations Subdued As Muslim Celebs Protest

aamir_khan copy.jpg

It has been a subdued Eid for Bollywood this year following the terror attacks on Mumbai last month. All the Muslim actors and actresses in Bollywood wore black bands in protest. They kept their Eid a low key affairs and abstained from lavish celebration and parties.

Salman Khan who hosts a big bash for his family and friends every Bakreid emersed himself in the shooting of his film Veer. Shahrukh and Aamir wore black bands as well but kept themselves busy with the promotion of their forthcoming films Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi and Ghajini.

Irrfan Khan joined the black band group and urged that Muslims should come together against terrorism. While veteran Naseeruddin Shah plainly wondered “Why are Indian Muslims perpetually required to prove their patriotism?”

Amongst the other actors who wore black bands were Farhan Akhtar, Shabana Azmi, Dia Mirza, Zayed Khan, Soha Ali Khan, Saif Ali Khan, Katrina Kaif. Other celebrities like Javed Akhtar, Sajid Nadiadwala, Abbas Tyrewala, Farah Khan, Sajid Khan etc also joined in.

Akshay Kumar’s Italian Suit Worth 5 Lakhs

ak-grasim.jpg

Aishwarya Rai made news when she picked up shades worth 10 Lakh rupees, Asin picked up shoes worth 2 lakhs and now Akshay Kumar has raised a lot of eyebrows when he decided to wear an Italian designer suit worth Rs. 5 lakh for his forthcoming film Kambakht Ishq.

The movie produced by Sajid Nadiadwala has been already declared one of the biggest budget films. It stars Hollywood biggies like Sylvester Stallone, Brandon Routh Brandon Routh, and Carmen Electra along with apne desi Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor.

A source from the film’s crew reported, “Akshay was shooting for his introductory scene in the film. Shabina had sent nearly a dozen suits, each priced at approximately Rs 1.5 lakh. But Akshay didn’t like any suit. There was chaos with everybody wondering how to resolve the problem since Akshay was supposed to shoot for the particular scene in a few hours.”

That’s when Akshay and Sabir decided to go shopping. “The scene also has Kareena Kapoor. Kambakkht Ishq also stars a few prominent Hollywood actors. Akshay obviously wanted to look suave so he chose a suit, which was much more expensive than what Sajid had imagined. But Sajid is a magnanimous producer. He and Akshay are quite close. In fact, they went to the same school (Don Bosco, Matunga) where Akshay was one year junior to Sajid,” said our source.

A source close to Sajid, confirmed the story and said, “Yes. This did happen. Akshay didn’t wear any of the suits sent by Shabina. But that’s okay. Such things do happen during film shoots. Akshay chose a superb black suit with a hint of blue. It’s a unique piece.”

All good things come for a price… and Akshay Kumar is getting pricey as he gets good.

Asin Going Strong In Bollywood

South Indian actress Asin is going really strong even before her debut Hindi film Ghajini has hit the theatres. The 23 yr old has impressed everyone from Aamir to Salman and even Vipul Shah. She has a meaty Tanishq endorsement and a Fanta advertisement in her kitty that has got her noticed.

Now she has also bagged Tata Sky’s telly ad replacing former Miss India Gul Panag as Aamir’s better half.

Asin confirms, “Yes, you’re right. I have signed a deal with Tata Sky for their next television commercial opposite Aamir Khan which goes on air on the 25th December. I haven’t shot for the advert. It should be anytime soon.”

It is said to be a promotional sort for Ghajini after its release. Wonder what Gul Panag has to say as Asin steals her screen hubby.

Asin’s next Bollywood film is Vipul Shah’s London Dreams opposite Salman Khan and Ajay Devgan. This girl is surely going hot.

Ranbir Kapoor Smacks Katrina Kaif; Nose Injured!

Ranbir Kapoor hit Katrina Kaif on her nose so hard that she fell on ground yelling in pain. A member of the film crew revealed, “An elaborate set was created at Madh Island and it was a chase sequence where Ranbir and Katrina were supposed to be running away from some goons. All was fine till the point where Ranbir needed to suddenly turn around. He did that but in the bargain hit Katrina’s nose with his hand and the delicate actress went tumbling to the ground. She was in great pain but realised that it was unintentional, so she didn’t complain.”

Katrina confirmed the incident saying, “Yes (it did happen). It’s ok now.”

Hema Malini and Jeetendra To Judge Reality Show

hema-malini.jpg

Its raining reality shows and yet another show is Dancing Queen to be launched on the channel Colors. The promos show that they are going to choose who makes the best Item girl.

I was rather surprised to see Hema Malini and Jeetendra appointed as judges. Okay, Hema is a trained classical dancer but for dance of this type I expected to see Helen or Bindu on the judges seat. Wonder what Jeetendra is going to judge there.

He looks out of place there just like Chunkey Pandey who judged a reality show. Anyway, there are some interesting participants which include some infamous names from Tellywood and flop actresses of Bollywood starting from Barkha Bisht, Mink, Sambhavana Seth, Meghna Naidu, Anita Hassanandani, Shweta Menon, Sanober Kabir, Ishitta Arun, Bruna Abdullah and Deepshikha.

Lets see if cabarets, item performances and skin show can get them good TRPs. (Dont forget to notice Jeetendra’s jet black hair.)

Makdee Girl Ready To Join Bollywood’s Glam Girls

shweta-prasad.jpg

We have no doubts about the acting skills Shweta Prasad of Iqbal and Makdee fame. The girl proved to be one of the finest child actors India has ever produced. Now she is 17 years old and looking forward to join Bollywood’s glam girls. She has already made her debut as a leading lady in a Telugu film which has become a runaway hit.

“I was looking for a break when director Srikanth Addala offered me a role. He watched Iqbal and was impressed. I was however apprehensive about the production house. The only person we recognise from Tollywood is Nagarjuna, so, my mom and I, googled to know more about Dil Raju. We found that he is a big producer in Tollywood and that’s when we went ahead,” says Shweta.

She is working on two more Telugu films and she has also been signed up for a Bollywood film too. Looks like this girl is surely gonna go places even as a leading lady.

Adnan Sami Gets Death Threats Post 26/11

adnan.jpg

Adnan Sami, a British-Pakistani singer and composer is facing the aftermaths of the 26/11 attacks on Mumbai. He has been receiving death threats from anonymous callers on Wednesday.

“The calls started coming immediately after that horrific Wednesday. The command was simple, ‘Leave Mumbai immediately or be killed’,” says a harrowed Adnan.

Adnan didn’t know who was making these calls. He had already received a lot of flak from fellow Indian musicians who dislike the coming of Pakistani singers in India (read: Aadesh Shrivastava and Abhijeet). When the calls repeated

“Adnan then decided that this time, the threat was more serious than before. For the first time, he became seriously worried for himself and his wife Sabah,” says his friend.

Apparently Adnan contacted Sonia Gandhi for help but with elections overhead, she probably didn’t want any controversies hampering Congress’ chances. So she did not provide him any security. Poor Adnan had to get in touch with a private agency for security.

His friend confirms, “He now moves around with four bodyguards and four armed men provided by an agency named 911. This security posse accompanies him everywhere. They stay in his house and go to concerts and other social occasions with him. Adnan is seriously scared for his life. He has told very close friends the name of the organisation that should be held responsible if something untoward were to happen to him.”

Well, if the threats are to be taken seriously, then Pakistani artistes in Bollywood should surely be careful.

SRK wants to make people smile

thumb.jpg

Shah Rukh Khan wants to return back smile to the faces of all Mumbaites by doing something that he is best at - Entertaining.

SRK says, “Maybe it’s not the best time, but I am leaving everything in Allah’s hands, I have been fortunate not to lose a loved one, but that doesn’t make me hurt less. We have realised the vulnerability of life. Terror is a reality and we need to realistically challenge it.”

SRK wants to make a difference in the lives of people, “As an actor my job is to make people smile, to offer them a few hours of solace from all these happenings,” says SRK.

SRK then adds, . “It’s sad that change had to emerge this way. But at least it has. Hopefully, this will be considered as a sacrifice for a better tomorrow. We have always seen that big changes are at the cost of lives laid down. It’s a very sad fact of life. I wish it didn’t happen like this. I wish innocent lives were not lost like this.”

“We need to be secure with our language. Every religion is a language, a communication with yourself and with God. If my religion is good that doesn’t mean I will make fun of a different religion. We must understand this. Terrorism has it’s own religion. It’s a language which only terrorists understand. They do not belong to any religion.”

“To change things around, we need to change ourselves. We should first become law abiding citizens. It should be mandatory for every party to include a security system in their agenda. Which must function independently. We cannot do away with the voting system. So let’s give one secular party of our choice the chance to rule. Let it rule for five years and be accountable to us. Then let’s see. Coalitions and alliances are half-baked ideas. They are always insecure that the majority will go away.”

Katrina finds working with new directors risky

katrina_kaif17.jpg

Katrina Kaif from start of her career has worked with established directors like David Dhawan, Anees Bazmee and Subhash Ghai amongst many others. However the beautiful actress doesn’t want to risk her hit career by working with new directors.

She says, “The first thing that I see before choosing a film is definitely the director. If a new person comes to me with a script and says ‘let’s go for it’, I should be really willing to take risks to agree but I guess that will also happen sometime. Working with new directors is risky.”

Katrina also stresses on the right man behind the camera, “If a director who can’t pull off a good script comes up to me with a fantastic script and I love it, it is still a meaningless and futile exercise to go ahead with the film. For me, who directs the film is of utmost importance,” says Katrina.

Well all new Bollywood directors who were keen to cast Katrina must be sobbing on reading this news.

Bollywood says STOP Piracy - it helps terrorists

abhay.jpg

Bollywood has come together to inform the common man that the 50 rupees he spends on buying a pirated DVD actually helps terrorist buy arms and ammunition as major chunk of the profit from piracy goes into terror camps.

Here’s what Bollywood is saying about piracy:

Abhay Deol - “I did not know that earlier. I am sure the underworld will have many such sources. The root of the problem is our own prejudices and apathy as a culture. Whether it is the right wing Hindu parties or Muslim parties, innocent people get caught in the cross fire and new terrorists are born. The only way to fight the menace is to start making individual efforts by spreading awareness about such things and respecting the many communities that make this nation.”

Farah Khan - “People should be made to realize that piracy is not just killing an industry but it also has a larger perspective to it. When activities related to terrorism are funded through piracy, one can understand the gravity of the situation. Hence, there has to be a bigger call taken for this. After all it is not just about the industry losing crores. In the last 10 days, I have seen that we do talk a lot when things like these happen but I am also worried that are we doing something about it? Celebrities are coming together to file petition and that has motivated me also to do something, raise a voice, bring up an issue, debate! On one end entertainment is anyways costly, then there is so much of tax. In between you bring in piracy. In such a scenario, a film maker making money is a huge thing in itself. Think about it, if piracy is eradicated, how much enhancement we could see in the movie business!”

John Abraham - “It’s a shame if our people buy these DVDs”

Sajid Khan - “I know this for a fact that piracy is not less than terrorism. The only difference being terrorism kills directly and piracy kills indirectly. Piracy not just kills an industry but also kills entire families by creating losses and recession.”

Sonu Sood - “It should be stopped completely. Every pirated DVD helps them in buying a bullet which is used against our loved ones.”

So stop supporting Piracy as you are indirectly supporting Terrorism.

Muslim Celebrities wear black band this Eid

raaz-2008-2b-1_12285787012.jpg
Bollywood Muslim Celebrities like Diz Mirza, Zayed Khan, Farhan Akhtar and many others are wearing a black band to show the terrorists that they cannont divide India in the name of religion.

Dia Mirza: “Of course I will wear a black band. It will give out a token signal against polarization in the nation. It is important for the Muslim community to speak up at this time and protest against acts of terror.

Irrfan Khan: “Yes I will wear the black band to send out the message that terrorists are the enemies of Islam. And they cannot divide Indians in the name of religion

Naseeruddin Shah: “The trouble with these symbolic gestures is you feel you’ve done your bit. We should hold on to this feeling of dissastisfaction and helplessness so that we are galvanized into action.

Muslims feel obliged to take up token gestures to distance themselves from the bastards behind the 26/11 horror. But why are Indian Muslims perpetually required to prove their patriotism?

Shabana Azmi: “I’ll most definitely wear the black band and urge all Indians to do so.”

Farhan Akhtar: “My request is that all Indians should wear a black band regardless od their religion and community to show terrorists and those who try and exploit this situation in the upcoming elections that their tactics to divide us will no longer work.

Adnan Sami: “Sorry I won’t wear the black band. These gestures are meaningless and cannot undo the ghastly tragedy that has fallen over our beloved city. Pardon me for saying this. But I think lighting of candles, etc is all humbug.

Where was the state security when our Mumbayites were being mowed down? We were calling the Black Cats from Delhi! Why don’t we have our own Black Cats in Mumbai?

After all it is the financial capital of India. What difference is a black band going to make? Will it resurrect the dead?

My heart bleeds for all those who died because of these barbaric brutal misguided fools who crept in from sea to drown us in shame and sorrow.

Amna Sharif: “First of all there’s nothing to celebrate. And yes I’d wear a black band on an auspicious day like Eid but not only as a Muslim, but an Indian. All of us should stand united against the brutal terrorists who are enemies of humanity and peace.”

Zayed Khan: “Our nation has been attacked by a bunch of cowards who in the name of religion call themselves martyrs of God. What a joke! What kind of people would attack defenceless humanbeings?

These people have hijacked our religion to put forward their own political agenda of dividing our people and country. We must pause to look at history where we’ll see how the same divide-and-rule policy was applied by other invaders.

I stand shoulder-to-shoulder with all my brothers and sisters from every religion against the evil and cowardly act.

I will wear the black band on Eid and urge every Muslim who loves India as much as I do to do the same. We must send out a clear and strong message to the perpetrators of this ghastly act that they can never ever win.

I don’t think the next time Terrorists will refrain from attacking out country ‘coz all celebrity Muslims have worn a black band, it will not make any difference to their plans of killing innocents. So are you wearing a black band today?

Bipasha thanks Karan for making John hot

03koffee.jpg

Bipasha Basu apparently forgot how hot and sexy her boyfriend John Abraham is and her thoughts rekindled when she saw a bare body Abraham in his current flick Dostana.

Bipasha says, “I actually ended up telling Karan Johar that I had forgotten how hot my boyfriend is. I thanked him (Karan) for reminding me.”

“Each and every muscle of his body was so sharp that it appeared effortless.”

“John is genetically gifted to have a body frame like that. Besides both of us have been models at some point in time and we are pretty comfortable with our bodies. He is doing well for himself in terms of looking good.”

Well looks like the couple keep their romance rekindled forever by impressing each other with their bodies - Bipasha for Dhoom2 and now John with Dostana.

Sanjay Dutt speaks on terror

sanjay-dutt-seven.jpg

Munnabhai of Bollywood Sanjay Dutt is also giving his view about the recent terror attacks.

He says, “It’s my voice and your voice. It’s optimistic to see this great awakening amongst the youth. I hope and pray that this right emotion prevails till we bring about the change we have always dreamed of.
Yes, I am terribly angry at our government and the entire political infrastructure. Where’s the tax we pay going? It’s time they understand the gravity of the situation and act. At such times I miss my Dad.

He would have taken this up in a big way. He would have been very happy to see this new wave of change. We cannot continue to have such a facile approach towards terrorism, a phenomenon that’s assuming a global threat. The police and the security system needs to be equipped with modern arms and ammunition. We must lend our moral support to them. We have lost many brave hearts, and now we have to deal with people who seek our votes.

It is said adversities bring people closer. The attack has not only united us to fight against terrorism but also all kinds of evil. “

What do you think about his views folks?

Shobhaa De blasts SRK

29sld11.jpg

Not very well known writer Shobha De has vent out her anger against A graders of Bollywood like SRK, Saif, Hrithik, Akshay and Salman as they chose to keep quiet on the Mumbai terror issue.

She writes in her Facebook article, “I read ‘Shah Rukh Khan’s on BBC Asia’ (reported in a local tabloid) with a great deal of disappointment. The report begins by quoting him stating, “I tried to keep away from commenting on all this…” He later goes on to say, “Youngsters need to understand Islam and respect the religion in the right way….” Yes, Shah Rukh! You are not telling your fans something they don’t know! Also, “……..no agenda should be attached to any kind of religion.'’ Thank you SRK, for stating the obvious. And for being so very politically correct…. non-committal ….during the most violent attack on Mumbai - the very city that has made you. I wanted to hear some words of comfort for those who died; some strong condemnation of those who committed this crime. This report made no mention of any such thing. And it was the only published comment from SRK to date.”

The writer who is known to write gibberish in a fiesty way says, “SRK is no ordinary Bollywood star. Others from his fraternity have spoken up boldly. Why such a wishy-washy response from The King\Badshah etc etc?? This is the time for people like him, Sachin Tendulkar and others who preen away as ‘National Icons’ at other times, to stand up and be counted. Look at RGV’s arrogant and offensive stance even today - boycott his lousy films and teach him a lesson. The Taj is not a potential movie set he needed to study for art direction! Most of the filmwallas owe something to someone sitting in Dubai.

“No wonder they have been so cautious and guarded in their response. Cowards! All they can think of are overseas’ box office returns (they make the most money in those markets). Dhanda has silenced their conscience. Amitabh(the same man who helped her sell her lousy novel by unveiling it.) sleeps with a gun under his pillow, and then says it is a symbolic act! Aamir weighs his words with care. Salman stays chhhup (just as well). Akshay, Hrithik, Saif…… lost your voices all of a sudden??”

Well you are doing the same Shobhaa madam, instead of gaining publicity by blasting others you can do something good by actually doing something instead of just writing and blaming. Just writing and speaking boldly about the attacks in papers and blogs is not inspiring and helping anybody, if you really wanna be bold step out from your lousy homes and work for the betterment of the country.

What do you think folks?

Big B creates havoc with his gun

49200855651AM.jpg

Big B and his Gun are in news for all the wrong reasons for so many days, this time the Gun has caused havoc for him not under the pillow but at the airport.

Amitabh was caught with the pistol which had a different number not matching the one on his license document. After he surrendered his pistol he was given a green signal to fly to Pune.

A security officer at the airport said, “The digits on the pistol were different from those on the license. Airline officials found the curvature of the pistol different from the one the digits indicated.”

Jet Airways too confirmed the news, saying, “There was a slight discrepancy in the license number. Mr Bachchan apologised for the error. He then took the flight without the pistol.”

Well let the gun rest under your pillow Big B, its causing way too damage to you!!

Kareena Kapoor on Mumbai terror attacks

kareena-globus-winter-stills (5).jpg

Inspire by boyfriend Saif Ali Khan, Kareena Kapoor has also written a big letter expressing her feelings about the barbaric Mumbai Terror Attacks.

She writes,” 7000 miles away and very, very angry.

On Wednesday, 26th November, when the terrorists attacked Mumbai, I was getting ready to start my day 7000 miles away in Philadelphia. I got a call from my sister saying there are bomb blasts in Mumbai.

It was an eerie feeling. Seven years ago, we were in India following the news coverage of the 9/11 attacks on the World Trade Centre in New York.

Today, I was in the US, following the news coverage of the 26/11 attack on India’s financial capital. CNN was carrying live coverage of the attacks.

In the days that have followed the 26th of November, I have felt a surge of mixed emotions. Sadness at the loss of lives and property.

Admiration for our police, armed forces and firemen, who did their best and fought bravely despite the limited means at their disposal.

Disgust with the so-called political leaders who provide no leadership and ironically surround themselves with so many security guards while doing little or nothing for the security of the people who have voted them to power.

And anger at the cowards who kill in the name of religion, and anger at the cowards who support them without owning up.

I am writing this after seeing pictures of the citizens’ rally at the Gateway of India and I am filled with pride. It was wonderful to see so many of us speaking in one voice for our city, our country. I am writing this piece as this is the only way I can reach out to our people from so far away.

I want to applaud the media for being pro active… and for being the force that is trying to unite the nation. We must genuinely unite if real change is to come… there are too many divisions…political and religious in our minds. If we are to be secure and strong we need to fight terror together… without any negotiation.

Saif and I both would like to offer our deepest condolences to all the bereaved families…you are in our thoughts and will stay in our minds…I love my city very much…Mumbai is my home, our home… and is the city that has given us all so much. I pray that we can build a better tomorrow on the rubble of our today.

With all my love,

Kareena Kapoor”

Shahid Kapoor has always known for helping his friends in need. However this time Shahid helped his make-up man Srikant when he met with a fatal accident. His fingers got jammed in the door of the vanity van which resulted in a fractured finger bone.

Since the shoot was away from the city, Shahid immediately took Srikant to hospital as his pain worsened. Since the hospital was very far the shoot got delay.

A source reveals,“Shahid did not move till Srikant felt completely okay. He got back to the set only when Srikant was given first aid. It delayed the shoot for a few hours,”

“Shahid didn’t wait for other make up artist rather did his own make up and shot for the ad.”

Aamir Khan blames political parties for attacks

2n3pko.jpg

Aamir Khan has blamed the political parties for the barbaric terrorist attack on Mumbai.

In his blog, Aamir writes, “As I had expected, various politicians have tried to use this traumatic attack to their advantage. I only hope people see through them this time. Both the major political parties have failed to tackle terrorism. There have been repeated attacks on us during both their reigns that neither has been able to anticipate or deal with well. While what happened in Mumbai recently clearly exposes the incompetence of the Congress, the hijacking of the Indian Airlines flight 814 during the BJP rule shows them in an even worse light. They actually negotiated with and released dreaded terrorists from Indian jails. All the five hijackers and the three terrorists released from India by the government in power, then were allowed to escape to attack us another day. I think the first lesson to learn from this is that we MUST NOT NEGOTIATE. No matter what, the next time round around, and let’s not fool ourselves. We MUST NOT NEGOTIATE. All potential terrorists must get a very clear message that INDIA DOES NOT NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS. What that means is, that in the future if there is a situation where me or my kids are held hostage by a bunch of terrorists then I must be prepared to tell our government - to hell with me and my children, just go in there and kill the terrorists. I am prepared to sacrifice myself and my loved ones for the larger safety and security of the country but DON’T LISTEN TO AND NEGOTIATE WITH TERRORISTS.

The other important thing we need to remind ourselves in this time of anger and hurt is to stay calm and take sensible steps, and not give in to thoughtless knee-jerk reactions. I heard someone say on television that we should all stop paying our taxes as a show of protest. Haven’t heard of a sillier idea. If we stop paying our taxes, we won’t have an army and NSG to save us next time around!!! Instead, we should all START PAYING OUR TAXES. We demand so much of our leaders but are we fulfilling our basic responsibility? Can we say with honesty that as citizens of our country we all honestly pay our taxes? If we don’t our taxes can we blame the government for being inefficient?

What I would really like to see emerge from all this is the youth of this country starting a political party. A group that we can all support. Faith.”

This is the dialogue Aamir told in Rang De Basanti, ” Zindagi jeene ke do tareeke hote hain. Ek, jo ho raha hai hone do. Bardasht karte raho. Ya phir zimmedari uthao usse badalne ki’”

And I want to say to our celebrities, instead of venting your anger in papers and blogs, ZIMMEDARI UTHAO USSE BADALNE KI!!!

Lisa Lazarus finds Mumbai safe

lisa.JPG

On one hand England cricket players are leaving the country as they have been left terrorized by Mumbai Terror Attacks, Miss UK Lisa Lazarus finds the city safe. She even toured the city with her boyfriend and was keen to attend the peace rally held at Gateway but couldn’t make it on time because of her shooting schedule.

Lisa says, “I feel very safe here. I don’t think I would feel safe in Pakistan. If I was asked to go there now, I wouldn’t. Here everyone’s been so overly protective. If something has to happen, it will happen, death is something you cannot run away from.” Incidentally, Lisa was to reach Mumbai on 26/11 but didn’t get her visa. Instead, she sat at home and watched with horror at the carnage unfolding live on television. “It was still Tuesday there. Taj was one place I thought of visiting.”

Meanwhile Lisa is gushing about her co-star Salman Khan, “I saw his pictures. He is so good looking but I also love Aamir Khan. I think these guys are the Brad Pitt of India.”

On comparision with Katrina, she says, “It’s a compliment. We can be friends. Katrina is also from UK, like me.”

Well this girl is surely talking sense.

John’s very angry after Mumbai attacks

John Abraham (3).jpg

John Abraham was recently seen inaugurating food and wine show my magazine Upper Crust and represented the never-say-die Mumbai spirit who bounced back after the attacks.

However John is quite angry, “I’ve been born and brought up in Mumbai. I may be smiling and laughing now, but I’m so angry that I can beat up someone,” says John.

Although the media is being criticized by many for minute by minute coverage of the attacks which helped the terrorist and informed them about every external move, John is quite happy with them.

He says, “This is the first time I’m saying this — the media has done a fabulous job. You guys were very good.”

Do you guys think that media did the right thing by showing the minute-by-minute coverage of the attacks which ultimately helped the terrorists?

Saif Ali Khan on Mumbai attacks

aif_ali_khan_kbc4.jpg

Taking a hint from little sister Soha Ali Khan, actor Saif Ali Khan has also penned his thoughts about the barbaric Mumbai attacks for a leading newspaper.

Saif writes, Mumbaikars are resilient! The spirit of Mumbai back on its feet… I am sick and tired of hearing about the spirit of the resilient Mumbaikar. What choice do we have? I really hope we don’t forget this.

The government has failed us again. Politicians are advertising for your votes while the bodies of the dead are not yet cremated. Mr Modi has offered a crore to Hemant Karkare’s widow. Everyone, as usual, is gaining his own mileage from a deplorable situation. The Taj in flames… 60 people shot dead at the CST. 9/11 was not so close to us. Terror has come home. Who will protect us from this happening again? Is getting shot in the coffee shop of a 5-star hotel or getting killed in an explosion another legitimate way to die? Like getting run over or dying of some disease? In our parents’ time, Beirut was called the Paris of the East — will Mumbai succumb to a similar fate?

I think there’s no voice of liberal Islam anywhere to be heard today, which is why I choose to express my anguish at what’s taking place around us today. We have either the fundamentalist forces or someone blowing up the place. As an Indian and a Muslim, I feel like expressing my condemnation and outright disgust at any party killing innocent people in the name of God, Allah or whatever we choose to call him. I am so worried that the whole religion will be judged and condemned. There are strong communal feelings running through all stratas of our society and I find it hard to defend the fact that there seems to be a Muslim hand behind every detonator. Indians must unite as Indians and not split under any circumstances on any line.

I too want revenge for what has happened. I know the whole city is baying for Pakistani blood. We want to bring back draconian laws like POTA. While I might agree with this I feel we should all remember that 500,000 Indians are in jail under this law without a trial. Is it humane to go in this direction without fully understanding the situation? We should get our facts right. Yes, if Pakistan is to blame then we should go to war against them. But till we know what the truth is, we should stop having these knee-jerk reactions like going to war or not paying taxes. If we don’t pay taxes, who will support our brave soldiers who battle such attacks and go to war?

I feel a little scared as a Muslim. I want to urge us to fight the right enemy. This is beyond religion. It’s not about India vs. Pakistan. I do feel that to fight Pakistan or to go to war is to play into the hands of the terrorists. This is what they want. We need to unite as a region against this common enemy. Pakistan is fighting the Al-Qaeda on the Afghanistan border. The US has pledged support.

The Marriott hotel was destroyed and Mrs Bhutto was killed — we have the same enemy.
I applaud Condoleezza Rice for flying to India and saying that non-state actors sometimes act in the confines of a state and there has to be strong action against them and it is still a matter of Islamabad’s responsibility and Pakistan has to act against them.

I would like to thank the NSG and the Mumbai police who handled the situation so well with so little on their side in terms of equipment and support.

Some of our government agencies like RAW have failed us yet again. Since 1970, there has been more politicising of these agencies leading to their inefficiency.

Let’s get it right this time and vote for the government that we believe in and then stand by them.

Let us unite on this issue as Indians.

Shooting cold wintry nights in Philadelphia, in the USA and already miserable with the weather and the hours — and making a film on terrorism of all things. Both Kareena and I were exposed to the news that has shaken the foundations of our city and destroyed our already shaky belief in our government’s ability to protect us. We feel so terribly sad and depressed for our city… Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Mumbai…

Famous Bollywood Kisses

There was a time when kisses on screen seemed like a taboo. Today they are as popular as item numbers in movies, thanks to apni Mallika Sherawat who broke all the norms with her 17 kisses in the film Khwahish.

famous-bollywood-kisses.jpg

There have been smooches on screen time and again that hit the headlines and raised a few eyebrows. Through the course of history lets look at some of the most sensational smooches on screen.

Bobby(1973) - Way back in 1973, Bobby was declared a bold film. Raj Kapoor dared to experiment with everything from skimpy clothes to a quick smooch between Rishi Kapoor and Dimple Kapadia to rake gold at the box-office.

Dayavan (1988) - This Mani Ratnam film is much known only for its hot kissing scene between ’sweet and young’ Madhuri Dixit and ‘once-upon-a-time superstar’ (then in his mid-age) Vinod Khanna . The film was a remake of a Tamil film which didn’t do well at the Box-office.

Raja Hindustani (1996) - The Kissing scene between Aamir Khan and Karisma Kapoor drenched in rain came as a surprise to many watching the film in the Indian cinemas. Nonetheless, it was an amazingly shot kiss.

Fire (1996) - One of the most controversial films in the history of Indian cinema. A super hit overseas as it told the tale of lesbian love in the heart of middle class India. Nandita Das and Shabana Azmi share a controversial kissing scene in the film.

Khwahish (2003) - Govind Menon’s Khwahish is synonymous with Mallika Sherawat’s 17 kisses on screen. Record breaking I must say!

Hey Ram (2000) - Apart from a controversial subject matter, what added to the controversy was the scandalous love-making and kissing scenes between Rani Mukherjee and South superstar Kamal Hassan.

Kyun…Ho Gaya Na (2004) - Aishwarya Rai had always been an enigma for the media especially after she broke up with Salman Khan. She was said to be dating Vivek Oberoi during the time Kyun… Ho Gaya Na released. Although the kiss between Vivek and Ash evoked curiosity, the film was a major flop.

Boom (2003) - Boom did not do well on the box-office only that it made news for its kissing scenes. The lovemaking scene that made news and the censor board go chop-chop-chop was the one between Gulshan Grover and newcomer Katrina Kaif (in her debut role). Apparently Gulshan demanded 7-8 retakes of his kissing scene with Katrina. Katrina had no complaints because she didn’t have Salman as her boyfriend then :P

Black(2005) - A Kissing scene in the film between veteran Amitabh Bachchan and co-star Rani Mukherjee, playing teacher and student gathered a lot of smirks.

Dev (2004) - Kareena and Fardeen Khan shared a kiss on screen for the movie Dev and that became quite controversial because it didnt go down well with the Muslim community because they both played Muslims in the film.

Musafir (2004)- Musafir is amongst those umpteen Sanjay Dutt gangster films. The only reason why this one is fresh in people’s minds is because of some sensational (and sometimes unnecessary) love-making scenes between Anil Kapoor and Sameera Reddy.

Dhoom 2 (2006) - Nothing wrong with the kiss between Aishwarya Rai and Hrithik Roshan. But someone filed a case against the Yash Raj films because he found the kiss obscene. Also the kiss is said to have upset the Bachchans who are Aishwarya’s in-laws now. Hrithik Roshan was not invited to the Abhi-Ash Wedding despite being Abhishek’s childhood friend.

Priyanka to help Harman with

priyanga-chopra4 (1).jpg

While Harman is in desperate need for a hit after a flop debut, girlfriend Priyanka Chopra is basking in the success of Fashion and Dostana. So the newbie has asked girlfriend Priyanka to help him out with his next flick Victory by doing a sizzling item dance for his flick.

Apparently due to recession and Harman’s debut disaster many buyers are shying away from buying the film and are demanding heavy cuts in price.

A source reveals, “Now one of the producers of the film, Manmohan Shetty, has urged the debutant director of the film, Ajit Pal, to put an item number in the film. This may just improve the prospects of the film on the ticket windows. Harman has requested girl friend Priyanka to do the number and she has agreed.”

Well I wonder if her presence will make it better? Remember Priyanka had a full-fledged role in LoveStory and still it flopped.
